Dr. I. N. McGee
Resolution - Dr. I. N. McGee
Dr. McGee was born in Sabine Parish, La. in 1847 or 1848. Came to
Texas with his parents when two years old.
Was a Confederate soldier - volunteered and joined the 15th Texas Infantry
when 14 years old, and was a drummer boy for his regiment. In early
1862 he was detailed to help gather field cattle for the army, which position
he continued until the close of the war.
He married Miss Mary Boone in 1869 and to this union were born 3 sons.
The mother and sons survive him.
Dr. McGee was a dentist and he supposed himself to be the oldest dentist
in Texas. He was a long sufferer. Her joined Camp Winnie Davis
U. C. V. March 2, 1914 and died June 1915 and was buried in the Confederate
lot in Waxahachie Cemetery.
His [life of?] toil and care, earth its sunshine and shadows in over.
May his soul rest in peace.
Resolved that this notice be spread upon a copy of our minutes set apart
