Entered State Serv 1861 Co A, 2nd NC; ent Conf Serv April 12, 1862 Pvt Co A 19th Tex Cav; present in skirmishes in Missouri and Ark; disbanded from State Service at Sand Prairie, Ark. March 1862; arrived Waxahachie, Tex. April 9, 1862 and joined Co. A. 19th Regt Tex Cav; was present Lake Providence, Nigger Hill, Yellow Bayou, White Water River, Cape Gerardeau, Crawley's Ridge; disch May 23, 1865.

Was born Franklin Co. Mo. Jan. 27, 1839; father Thomas Rhodus, Methodist preacher, and mother Margaret Rhodus. On Aug. 14, 1865 left Waxahachie for St Louis, Mo. where remained until Sept. 30, 1877, returning to Waxahachie where arrived 2nd October and have remained up to this writing. Was married 12 June 1889 to Miss Amelia Battle of Vicksburg, Miss.  Elected Adj. of Camp 1897 & 1898. [words too faint to read, among them was "....resigned Oct. 5, 1903."]

On original form "died Nov. 30, 1911."
