Dr. Julius H. Johnson retired from the practice of medicine in 1898, due
to ill health He moved from Central Texas to Houston and worked in
several music stores.
He died Wednesday at the age of 97.
Dr. Johnson, said to be the oldest living alumnus of Vanderbilt University,
practiced medicine in Bristol, Hillsboro and Ennis after his graduation in
1880 from the College of Medicine.
Funeral services will be in Houston on Friday.
