Spanish Influenza Strikes!
The first death from Spanish Influenza was recorded in Waxahachie, when
Leslie Rowland, 15, son of Mr. and Mrs. P. B. Rowland, died this morning.
He was a member of the local band and contracted the disease
while attending the Confederate Veterans reunion at Tulsa. There are now
twety five or thirty cases in the city. Because of the increase in
the number of cases ,boarding halls at the Trinity University have been placed
under quaratine. School is continuing, but boarding students will not
be permitted to leave the halls until the situation improves.
