William Bomar Tapp

In loving memory of our father, William Bomar Tapp, son of William F.
and Mary Ann Tapp, born in Spartanburg, S. C. Sept. 6, 1850.
When he was a small child his parents moved to southern Georgia and later
to Summerville, Ga., where (at age 21)he married Miss Almeda Harper
Sept. 26, 1871. Nine childrenwere born; tree died in infancy. The
six living are J. B. Tapp, Fannie Giles wife of Meredith Giles, Della Harvey,
wife of Oren Harvey, W. H. and E. J. Tapp.
William Tapp came to Texas Jan. 8, 1887, first settling in Hill County,
but moved to Ellis County the same year where he lived until his death. He
was returned from a meeting of the Masonic Grand Lodge at Waco wen he was
stricken with pneumonia on the night of his return, and was sick for only
two weeks, when he died Dec. 21, 1903, aged 53 years, three months and six
days. He leaves a wife, six children and a large circle of relatives
and friends to mourn. He was a devoted husband, loving father and faithful
member of the Missionary Baptist Church at Avalon.
