The Ferris school picture is from circa 1906. My great-grandfather Harry L. Cates is second from the left on the front row (with the baseball mit :) ) and my grandmother thinks he looks to be about 11, or remembers someone telling her he was 11. I'm sorry we can't identify anyone else in the photo.
