This is a photo of James Wiley Reynolds and Mahala Jane Seaboalt made sometime between around 1890 to 1900. She died in 1938 and he in 1948. They are buried in Maloney Cemetery. Records show that J. W. Reynolds was appointed postmaster at Avalon on February 8, 1901. His full name was James Wiley Reynolds, son of Archibald Reynolds of Waxahachie. James Wiley was born in Newton County, AR in 1857 and was married to Mahala Jane Seaboalt (b. 1858 in Newton Co., AR) whose father, William Riley Seaboalt settled 2-1/4 miles SE of Avalon in 1874 and cleared 320 acres of virgin land for cotton farming. (William Riley Seaboalt was my gg-grandfather). |
