Directions: Go eastward from Fairfield down Highway 84. Turn left onto FM
1364/#163 near Turlington. Go down FM 1364/#163 for 3.3 miles to junction with
#109 that goes to the Coffield State Prison. Go to the left fork onto #109
towards the prison. Half a mile down. Along a line N 11 degrees 30'E.
Background: Unknown. [I would speculate that this is the family cemetery for
Berryman P. Hammett from Greenville Co., SC (see #105 at 1850 Limestone County
census). Note that their neighbors are the Tyus family and this is next to the
Tyus cemetery. Berryman P. Hammett was a farmer and surveyor. He was one of the
earliest settlers of Freestone County before its formation. He was entitled to
Mercer Colony Certificates for Land Grants. See H of FC, Vol I, #383.]
