Elks Elect Wood As Exalted Ruler Longview News Journal July 25, 1956 Hollis Wood, who has been serving as esteemed leading knight of the Longview Elks Lodge No. 1128, was elected exalted ruler of the lodge at a special election Tuesday night at the lodge hall to fill the unexpired term vacated by the resignation of D.C. Hodgpeth. Mr. Hodgpeth as moved from the city. Carl Harrison was elected to succeed Mr. Wood as esteemed leading knight. At a special election two weeks ago, J.B. Cashell was named trustee of the lodge. The new officers will be installed next Tuesday. Plans for an Elks stag party on August 13th at the Lake Cherokee lodge
of Reliable Motors Company and for an Elks dance on August 18 at the
lodge hall were also discussed. This information was found in the vertical files of the Genealogy Department
of the Longview Library. |
