1903 Gregg County Medical Society THE TIMES-CLARION The Gregg County Medical Society was organized on the 3rd of February, composed of the following members: Drs. W.M. Cole, L.D. Stansbury, W.D. Northcutt, H.M. Lawrence, E.H. Hamilton, W.L. Marshall, C.W. Lawrence, W.B. Mackey, W.B. Allen, of Longview and S.S. Barnett of Kilgore and George Wyche, of Elderville. The following were elected as officers: Dr. W.M. Cole, president; Dr. L.D. Stansbury, vice president; Dr. W.B. Mackey, secretary and treasurer. The first Tuesday afternoon at 2 o'clock of each month was set as the time for the regular meetings of the society. The purpose of this society is to federate and harmonize the
members of the medical profession of Gregg County and for scientific
study and advancement of the profession and the promotion of friendly
feelings among the physicans; to guarding and fostering of their
material interest, so that the profession shall become more efficient
and honorable within itself and more useful to thepublic in the
prevention and cure of disease, and in prolonging and adding comforts
to life. This information was found among loose papers in the Genealogy
