	Lancaster, Billy J - Lt Billy J Lancaster, son of Mr & Mrs B H Lancaster, husband of Marie Murphy Lancaster. Entered Air Corps in 1943, trained as an instructor in the Marianas for several months and as a fighter pilot in the ETO. Has Purple Heart, Battle Stars, Air Medal and Clusters. Was taken POW in Germany April 1945.
	Land, James - Lt James Land, better known as "Little Judge" Land, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Army Air Corps and trained at Kilgore and St Petersburg, Fla. Was preparing to go overseas when he met accidental death in Florida in 1945.
	Land, Miller Jr - Lt Miller Land Jr, son of Mr & Mrs B M Land, Port Arthur, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Air Corps in 1939, trained at Savannah, Ga. Served in the Pacific 33 months. Now on duty there.
	Landers, Jim H - Sgt Jim H Landers, husband of Dolores Allen. Entered Army Dec. 1942; trained at Camp Hulen, Texas. Served in England and France. Now on duty in France.

Trained at St Petersburg, Fla, Camp Pinedale and Scramento, Cal., Omaha, Neb., Camp Crowder, Mo, and McDill Field, Fla. Served in Africa, India and China. (NOTE: Given name spelled 2 ways.)
	Lasiter, Allen L - Ensign Allen L Lasiter, son of Mrs B B Lasiter, graduate of Leverett's Chapel HS. Entered Naval Air Corps in 1942. Commissioned at NATC, Corpus Christi. Completed dive bomber training in Florida and returned to Kingsville, Texas for night fighter training.
	Laster, Alvin J - Pfc Alvin J Laster, son of Mr & Mrs J H Laster, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Marines in 1943. Trained at San Diego, Cal. Served in South Pacific where he is now on duty. Has Campaign Ribbons and other honors.

	Lawrence, Harding L - Cpl Harding L Lawrence, son of Mr & Mrs M L Lawrence, husband of Jimmie Bland Lawrence, attended Gladewater HS and Texas Univ. Trained with RAAF in Dallas, Texas and Toronto, Canada, and with LAAF at Sheppard Field and Bryan, Texas. Has served in Toronto, Canada. Now on duty at LAAF Base Unit in Lemoore, Calif.
	Lawson, Harold L - AMM 1/c Harold L Lawson, son of Mr & Mrs J W Lawson, husband of Helen Wilson Lawson, attended Pine Tree HS, LSU and Kilgore College. Entered the Naval Air Corps in 1942. Trained at San Diego and Alameda, Cal., Norman, Okla, and Seattle, Wash. Now on duty at Pasco, Wash.
	Lawson, Paul - MM 2/c Paul Lawson, brother of Helen Lawson, entered Navy in 1942. Trained at Norfolk, Va., served 3 years in Marianas, Marshalls, Pango, Fijis, Solomons and Eniwetok. Member of Shellback and Sock-Rat Clubs. Now with the famous 110th Seabees Bat. on Eniwetok Island.
	Leach, Felix E - 1st Lt Felix E Leach, son of Mr & Mrs E L Leacher, husband of Katherine Bohannon Leach. Entered the Marines in 1942, trained at Paris Island, Ouantico, Va. and Ft Sill, Okla. Served in Pacific at Saipan and Okinawa. Now with Occupational Forces in the Pacific. (NOTE: Surname spelled different from parents)
	Leach, Jewel Jr - Cpl Jewel Leach Jr, son of Mr & Mrs Jewel Leach Sr, attended Longview HS. Entered Army July 1942; trained at Waco, Texas. Now on duty at Greensboro, NC.
	League, James M - GM 3/c James M League, son of Mrs Minnie League, attended Judson Grove HS. Entered Navy in 1944; trained at San Diego, Cal. Served in Hawaii and Saipan, where now on duty.
	League, Thomas E - T/5 Thomas E League, son of Mrs Minnie League, attended Judson and Longview HS. Entered the Med. Corps in 1941, trained at Camp Grant, Ill and camp Roberts, Cal. Served in Australia and New Guinea. Has Dis. Unit Citation, Good Conduct Medal, AP Ribbon with two Stars, Pre-Pearl Harbor Med. and Honorable Discharge.
	Leak, Dan B - Sgt Dan B Leak, son of Mrs James V Leak Sr, attended Longview HS. Entered Air Corps in 1943, trained at Sioux Falls, South Dakota and Yuma, Ariz.

	Leake, Bain - Pfc Bain Leake, son of Baine Leake, attended Terrell Mil. Acad. Entered the Marines Sixth Marine Div. Comp. K. Third Bat. in 1943. Trained San Diego, Cal. Served in the Marshalls, Bougainville, Guam, Iwo Jima, and Okinawa. Received the Purple Heart posthumously. Killed in action at Okinawa May 10, 1945.
	Leath, Hardie Jr - S/Sgt Hardie Leath Jr, son of Mr & Mrs H A Leath, entered Air Transport Command in 1942. Trained at Love Field, Dallas and Hamilton Filed, Cal. Served in Australia, Guadalcanal and New Caledonia, New Guinea, Saipan and Bataan. Has two Battle Stars.
	Leavey, Edmond H - Capt Edmond H Leavey Jr, son of Edmond H & Mrs Leavey and husband of Helen Gardner Leavey, graduated and was commissioned 2nd Lt Corps of Eng. Served as Capt of Engineers in France, England and Germany. Has medal for Meritorious Services in Third Army.

Served as Chief of Staff US Army in Northern Ireland Forces, NI from Jan. to June 1942. Staff of Commander Service Force, US Pacific Fleet, Hawaii. Chief of Staff US Forces in Western Pacific. Has Legion of Merit with two OLC.

	Levy, Gerald B - Lt Com Gerald B Levy, son of Judge & Mrs R B Levy. Husband of Ethel Mae Yocum Levy. Attended Texas Univ. Entered the USNR in 1941. Trained at New Orleans, La. Served in England, France and German area. Now on duty with Atlantic Fleet.
	Levy, Richard M - Co. Richard M Levy, son of Judge & Mrs R B Levy and husband of Marquenita Hulen Levy. Served in World War I as Major in Heavy Art. in France. Served as Col. Adjutant-Gen. Dept in WWII in Caribbean Def. Com. and Director Personnel Div. Adjutant-Gen. Department.
	Levy, Richard M Jr - Capt Richard M Levy Jr, son of Mr & Mrs R W Levy, graduated and was commissioned 8nd Lt from the USMA at West Point in 1941. Served with the 26th Inf. in France, Germany and England. Has Medal for Meritorious services in the Third Army. (NOTE: Gives name as Richard M Jr but fathers name as R W; also gives 8nd Lt, but should be either 2nd or 8th)
	Lee, Forest A - S/Sgt Forest A Lee, son of Mr & Mrs T J Ramey, Gladewater, Texas. Attended Gladewater HS and Centenary College, La. Entered Air Corps April 192. Trained at Robbins Field, Ga. and Keisler Field, Miss. Engineer Gunner with 17th Bombardment Group Sqd. 37th (M). Killed in action on Corsica, Oct. 20, 1944. Was awarded Air Medal and Purple Heart.
	Lefler, George C - Pfc George C Lefler, son of Mr & Mrs Cleve Lefler and husband of Jean Budd Lefler, attended Longview HS and BMI. Entered the Anti-Aircraft service in 1944. Trained at Ft Bliss, Texas. Served in Alaska and Aleutians where he is now on duty.

	Lewis, Jack G - T/Sgt Jack G Lewis, son of Mr & Mrs G W Lewis and husband of Jolique Clark, graduated from Kilgore HS. Entered Army Air Corps in 1943; trained Kusler Field. Served in Italy, holds Pres. Citation, two Oak Leaf Clusters. Now on duty Ft Worth, Texas.
	Lewis, Jim S - Pfc Jim S Lewis, son of Mr & Mrs Jim Lewis, entered the Eighth Air Force in 1942. Trained at Jefferson Barracks, Md. Has served in England, France, Belgium, Luxembourg and Germany. Holds Good Conduct Medal, ETO Ribbons with three Battle Stars. Now on duty at Greensboro, NC.

	Little, Clarence R - L-1150 - S/Sgt Clarence R Little, son of Mr & Mrs C H Little and husband of Nelwyn Doby Little. Entered Coast Art. and transferred to the Inf. Trained at Ft McArthur, Cal. and Camp Howze, Texas. Served at Luzon since May 1945.
	Little, Eddie Allen Jr - S/Sgt Eddie Allen Little Jr, son of Mr & Mrs Eddie Allen Little Sr, and husband of Mary Jane Page Little. Entered Air Corps in 1942. Served 13 months in Italy & Corsica. Has DFC, Air Medal with four Clusters, Good Conduct Medal, Pres. Citation, six Campaign Stars and ETO Ribbons. Discharged April 1945.

	Litton, Rodgers - S/Sgt Rodgers Litton, son of Mr & Mrs Herman Litton, attended Gladewater HS. Entered Air Corps in 1942; trained at Kearns, Utah, Sheppard Field and Biggs, Texas and Chanute Field, Ill. Received Pres. Citation. Killed in line of duty being transported from India to China, Jan. 25, 1944.
