Served in Italy; killed in Action on December 11, 1944 on Bombing Mission over Vienna. Awarded Air Medal and ETO Ribbons.

	Waldrop, William M - Cpl William M Waldrop, husband of Elinor Hansen Waldrop, attended Longview HS. Entered Marines 1941; served 31 months overseas on Pearl Harbor, Guadalcanal, Vella La Vella and other Islands. Awarded Pres. Citation, Sharpshooter Medal and three Major Battle Stars.

	Ward, John D - F 1/c John D Ward, son of Mrs Mildred Ward, husband of Fiffie Norris, attended Kilgore HS. Entered Navy Oct. 1944; trained at San Diego, Cal. Served in the Pacific, where now on duty.
	Warlick, Frank M - Cpl Frank M Warlick, son of Mr & Mrs W H Warlick and husband of Irene Walker Warlick, attended Sabine School. Entered Air Corps 1942; trained at Sheppard Field, Texas and later in Ga., Ala. and Miss. Served in Ireland and England, where now on duty. Holds Sharpshooter's Medal.
	Warlick, Jack J - Pfc Jack J Warlick, son of J W Warlick and husband of Frances Dinwiddie Warlick. Entered Marines in 1943; trained at San Diego, Cal. Served in Saipan, Roi Manur, Tinian, and Iwo Jima. Now on duty in the Pacific.
	Warlick, Roy E - S 1/c Roy E Warlick, son of Mr & Mrs W H Warlick, attended Sabine School. Entered Seabees in 1943; trained at Camp Peary, Va. Has served in New Guinea and now on duty there.

	Wilson, John Dee - Cpl John Dee Wilson, son of Mrs Mae Bee Wilson; attended Longview HS. Entered Army Air Depot 1942; trained at Newark, NJ, Springfield, Ill. and Kelly Field, Texas, serving in the Marianas. Now on duty on Guam. Holds one Battle Star.
	Wilson, Norman D - 1st Lt Norman D Wilson, son of Mr & Mrs J T Wilson, attended Longview HS. Entered Army 1940. Trained at Camp Bowie and Camp Hood, and Ft Benning, Ga. Has served in the Philippines, where he is still on duty. Holds Bronze Star and Combat Inf. Badge.
	Wilson, Robert E - S/Sgt Robert E Wilson, son of E E Wilson; graduate of Gladewater HS. Entered Air Corps in 1942; trained at Boise, Idaho, Alamogordo, NM and El Paso, Texas. Served in Scotland and England. Holds DFC, Air Medal with three Clusters, ETO with two Battle Stars and Good Conduct Medal. Honorably Discharged Jan. 1945.
	Wilson, Travis D - 1st Lt Travis D Wilson, son of Mr & Mrs Frank T Wilson and husband of Patricia Collins Wilson; attended Gladewater HS. Entered Air Corps in 1939. Commissioned at Randolph Field. Served in the Dutch East Indies and Philippines, where he is still on duty.

	Wilson, Walon K - Capt Walon K Wilson, husband of Mabel Breazeale Wilson; taught in Longview before entering Army in 1942. Trained at OCS at Camp Lee, Va. and served as Inst. at Camp Gordon, Ga. Served in England, France, Belgium and Germany. Has one Bronze Star, five Combat Stars and other honors.
	Winegar, Wiley J - SF 1/c Wiley J Winegar, husband of Virginia Smitherman Winegar; entered Navy 1942; trained at San Diego. Has served in N. Africa, Sicily, Italy, England, and France. Holds three Invasion Stars. Enroute from Trinidad, BWI, to US.
	Winningham, Hessel - Cpl Hessell Winningham, son of C C Winningham, and husband of June Whatley Winningham; attended Judson Grove HS. Entered Army 1943; trained at Camp Ellis, Ill. Has served in the South Pacific and now on duty in the Philippines.
	Winterbour, Cecil L - F 1/c Cecil L Winterbour, son of Mr & Mrs L L Winterbour; attended Kilgore schools. Entered Navy 1943; received training at San Diego. Has served in New Guinea, Guam, and Okinawa. Has Battle Stars for eight naval battles. Now on duty in Japan.
	Wolens, Jerry - Lt Jerry Wolens, son of Al Wolens, attended Northwestern Univ. Entered Navy 1942; trained at Notre Dame, Ind. Has served in the Southwest Pacific and still on duty there.
	Wood, Archie E - 1st Sgt Archie E Wood, son of D N Wood and husband of Sybil Rector Wood, attended Pine Tree HS. Entered the 14th Infantry, 36th Div., Texas in 1940. Trained at Camp Bowie, Texas. Now discharged.
	Wood, C Keith - S 1/c Keith C Wood, son of Mrs Edna Hesse and husband of Marie Adams Wood. Entered Navy in 1943; trained at San Diego, Cal. Served in South America, South Pacific and Australia. 	Wood, Hollis B - 2nd Lt Hollis B Wood, son of Mr D N Wood, Attended White Oak HS. Mobilized with the Natl. Guards in 1940. Served in N Africa, where he was captured by the Germans and POW for two years. Holds Combat Infantry Badge and two Battle Stars. Now on duty at Camp Fannin, Texas.
