KILGORE — Services for Josh Randall Morgan, infant son of Amanda
Fair and Tim Morgan of Kilgore, will be held at 2 p.m. Monday
at Rader Funeral Home Chapel of Kilgore with the Rev. Riley Pippen
officiating. Burial will be in Kilgore Cemetery. Josh died
Friday in Arkansas Children's Hospital.

Lloyd Abner
GLADEWATER — Graveside services for Lloyd Abner, 64, of Gladewater
will be held at 10 a.m. Monday at Rosewood Park Cemetery with
Sam Goude and Paul Mathews officiating. Arrangements are by Croley
Funeral Home of Gladewater. Mr. Abner died Friday. He was born
Jan. 5, 1938, in Rio Grande Valley.

Ruth Gertrude Gilliland
Services for Ruth Gertrude Gilliland, 91, of Longview will be
held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Macedonia Baptist Church with
the Rev. Gary Orr officiating. Arrangements are by East Texas
Funeral Home of Longview. Mrs. Gilliland died Saturday,
July 27, 2002, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Gilliland was born Oct. 9, 1910, in Frankston to James Robertson
and Almeda Margaret Lee Roden. She was a seamstress and a longtime
resident of Longview. Mrs. Gilliland had been a member of the
Macedonia Baptist Church since 1948 and the Ruth Sunday school
class.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Robert E. and
Leona Gilliland; one daughter, Pat Allums and the late D.G. “Bo”
Allums of Longview; five grandchildren and their spouses, Jimmy
E. Gilliland and his wife, Sandy, Glenda Wiess and her husband,
Robert, Michael L. Gilliland and his wife, Denise, Robert B. Driggers
Sr. and his wife, Lynn, and Nannelle Hall and her husband, Timmy;
seven stepgrandchildren, Shirley Groot, Linda Meshell, Bobby Ross,
Kathryn Robertson, Evelyn Branham, Kevin Allums and Kenny Allums;
17 great-grandchildren; 28 great-great-grandchildren; and other
loving cousins, nephews and nieces.
Pallbearers will be Jimmy Gilliland, Michael Gilliland, Robert
B. Driggers Sr., Robert Wiess, Timmy Hall and Kevin Allums.

Jerry R. Campbell
GLADEWATER — Services for Jerry R. Campbell, 58, of White Oak
will be held at 4 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Croley Funeral Home
Chapel of Gladewater with James Winnford officiating. Burial will
be in the new White Oak Cemetery. Mr. Campbell died Friday, July
26, 2002.
Mr. Campbell was born March 1, 1944, in Denton County. He was
president of Trendsetter Construction and vice-president of Bobby
Reynolds Construction. Mr. Campbell was a veteran of the U.S.
Army. He was a member of the East Texas Home Builders Association
and the East Mountain Church of Christ.
Mr. Campbell is survived by his wife, Shirley Ingram Campbell
of White Oak; five children and their spouses, Jason Ralph Campbell,
Joel Dural and Mandy Campbell, Robert William and Leslie Campbell
and John and Shay Graham, all of White Oak; three grandchildren,
Mason Campbell and Christian and Faith Graham, all of White Oak;
his father and stepmother, William Ralph and Mary Campbell of
Garrison; two brothers and sisters-in-law, Billy Ray and Elaine
Campbell of Corinth and Ronnie and Rhonda Campbell of Garrison;
and one sister, Joyce Campbell of Mineola.
Mr. Campbell was preceded in death by his mother, Daisey Sparks
Campbell.
Pallbearers will be Charlie Hertel, Steve Harris, Roger Davidson,
Michael Best, Max Lunsford and Mike Lunsford. Honorary pallbearers
will be the employees of Trendsetter Construction and Bobby Reynolds
Construction.

Eileen Johnston
Mrs. Eileen Johnston, 80, of Longview passed away Saturday morning,
July 27, 2002, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Johnston was born Feb. 22, 1922, in Houston to L.A. and
Dorothy House. She had been a resident of Longview for the past
30 years. Mrs. Johnston was an active member in the Longview Symphony
Orchestra for the past 25 years and the Symphony League. She was
the current president of the Music Club of Longview and was a
music teacher. Mrs. Johnston played the organ at several churches,
including Woodland Baptist Church, St. Matthews Catholic Church,
St. Mary's Catholic Church and Centre Presbyterian Church. In
1986, she married James Johnston in Longview. He preceded her
in death in 1998. Mrs. Johnston was also preceded in death by
two sons and one daughter.
Among her survivors are three sons, Bo Johnston and Stanley Johnston,
both of Linden and Ben Goldsmith of Austin; three daughters, Vickey
Arrendale of Longview, Yolanda Oney of Hallsville and Sophia Baker
of Hillsboro; 18 grandchildren; and two great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Lakeview
Funeral Home Chapel. Entombment will follow in the Lakeview Memorial
Gardens.

Virginia LuWilda Flatt
Services for Virginia LuWilda Flatt, 79, of Longview will be
held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Rader Funeral Home Chapel of
Longview, 1617 Judson Road, with the Rev. Doug Hinkle officiating.
Burial will be in Kilgore City Cemetery.
LuWilda will always be remembered as a loving wife, mother, sister,
grandmother, great-grandmother and friend. She was preceded in
death by her loving husband, Alvin Spivey Flatt; one son, A. Jerry
Flatt; and one daughter, Sherry Anne Flatt.
LuWilda is survived by one son, Kelly Flatt of Longview; two
daughters, Donna Sumrow and Sandy Haferkamp, both of Longview;
eight grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; one brother and
sister-in-law, Les and Wanda Potts of Eufala, Okla.; two sisters,
Mable Clark of California and Ruby Stolick of Oklahoma; one sister-in-law,
Jimmy Owens of Kilgore; several nieces and nephews; and numerous
friends.
Pallbearers will be J.D. “Jimbo” Trimble, Wayne Morrison, Ted
Wolboldt, Bruce Raglin, Batte Peterson and Bobby Frazier. Honorary
pallbearers will be Robert Wyche, Jerry Parsons, Jim Clark and
Reed Ross.

Debbie Douglas
Graveside services for Debbie Anderson Douglas, 47, of Longview
will be held at 2 p.m. Monday, July 29, at Grace Hill Cemetery.
Arrangements are by Rader Funeral Home of Longview. Visitation
is 5-7 p.m. today, July 28, at the funeral home. Mrs. Douglas
died Saturday morning, July 27, 2002, in a local hospital.
Mrs. Douglas was born July 24, 1955, in Longview. After receiving
a kidney transplant at the age of 16, she had worked many different
jobs in her life, while at the same time receiving dialysis treatments
most of her life.
Mrs. Douglas is survived by one daughter, Jennifer Lopez; one
granddaughter, Brittney Lynn Martin; two grandsons, Bradley Jacob
Martin and Josˇ Luis Lopez; her father, Berle Anderson; her mother,
Gloria Anderson; one sister, Tiajuana Neel; one brother, Buddy
Anderson; and several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews and other
relatives. Mrs. Douglas was preceded in death by one brother,
Michael Anderson.

KILGORE — Graveside services for Rachel Northcutt, 83, of Kilgore
will be held at 10 a.m. Tuesday, July 30, at Danville Cemetery
with the Rev. David Hampton officiating. Arrangements are by Rader
Funeral Home of Kilgore. Mrs. Northcutt died Saturday, July 27,
2002, at her residence in Kilgore.
Mrs. Northcutt was born July 13, 1919, in Converse to Edward
and Callie Graves. She was a devoted mother and wife. Mrs. Northcutt
was a charter member of the Eastview Baptist Church and was a
past worthy matron of the Order of the Eastern Star Chapter No.
630.
Mrs. Northcutt is survived by her husband of 62 years, Johnnie
A. Northcutt of Kilgore; one son and daughter-in-law, Johnnie
A. Jr. and Linda Northcutt of Overton; two daughters, Renae Heilman
and her husband, Richard, of Albuquerque, N.M., and Barbara Northcutt
Kline of Longview; one granddaughter, Renae Stewart and her husband,
Anthony, of Longview; two great-grandchildren, John Stewart and
Vickey Lynn Stewart, both of Longview; one brother, Marvin Graves
of Louisiana; one sister, Dorothy Dempsey of Tulsa, Okla.; and
several nieces and nephews.

Memory Park Cemetery. Mrs. Branch died Friday, July 26, 2002,
in a local nursing home.
Mrs. Branch was born in Gardner, Mass., and had been a resident
of Longview for more than 40 years. She was retired from Pine
Tree Independent School District.
Mrs. Branch is survived by her husband, James; three sons and
two daughters-in-law, Danny DuBose, Jim and Susan DuBose and Tom
and Karen DuBose, all of Longview; one daughter and son-in-law,
Lucy and Jerry White of Albuquerque, N.M.; four grandchildren;
two great-grandchildren; and one brother and sister-in-law, Alvin
and Louise Perreault of Pensacola, Fla.

Services for Deloris Ann “DeeDee” Everhart Harris of Fort Worth,
formerly of Longview, will be held at 11 a.m. Tuesday, July 30,
at Forest Hill Church of Christ with Brother Emmanuel White officiating.
Burial with full military honors will be in Dallas-Fort Worth
National Cemetery under the direction of Bakers Funeral Home.
Local arrangements are by Craig Funeral Home.
Mrs. Harris was a graduate of Mary C. Womack High School and
had retired from the U.S. Air Force.
Survivors include one son and daughter-in-law, Brian Allan Sr.
and Michelle Harris; one daughter, Rachel Harris; her mother,
Cleo Helton of Longview; two grandchildren, Brian Allan Harris
Jr. and Tyler Matthew Jenkins; and her ex-husband and friend,
Wilbert Lee Harris.

Ralph Wise
Services for Ralph Wise, 82, of Longview will be held at noon
today, July 31, 2002, at the Winterfield United Methodist Church
with the Rev. Ed Barlow officiating. Burial will be in Memory
Park Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Rader Funeral
Home. Mr. Wise died Monday, July 29, 2002, at a local hospital.
He was born in Moundsville, W.Va., July 20, 1920, to Jeff and
Ocie Fisher Wise. Mr. Wise served with the U.S. Marine Corps during
World War II and had been a resident of Longview since 1950. He
retired as the comptroller for the Longview National and Texas
Commerce Bank. Prior to his banking career, he was an accountant
for Midvalley Pipeline Co. Mr. Wise had been active in community
service, working with the Boy Scouts and for 19 years as a United
Way volunteer. He sang with the local barbership singing group
and was an accomplished woodworker. He had also been active in
church work, serving as a Sunday school teacher and a church deacon.
Mr. Wise is survived by his wife, Freda, of Longview; a son and
daughter-in-law, Bob and Martha Wise of Dallas; a daughter and
son-in-law, Lois and Terry Hargis of The Colony; five grandchildren,
Carmen, Paige, Tim, Laura and Todd; and two great-grandchildren,
Ashlyn and Tanner.

Walter Harrison Parker
Private family services for Walter Harrison “Butch” Parker, 59,
of Longview will be held at 2 p.m. today, July 31, in Rosewood
Park Mausoleum with Col. Orville Salmon officiating. Arrangements
are by East Texas Funeral Home of Longview.
Mr. Parker was born Aug. 12, 1942, to Roy and Frances Parker
in Glendale, Calif. He passed away Monday, July 29, 2002, at his
residence. Mr. Parker was a truck driver and a Baptist, and he
had served in the U.S. Navy.
Survivors include a son, Joel H. Parker of Houston; a daughter,
Courtney C. Parker of New York City; his mother, Frances Parker
of Longview; and a sister, Gwynn Privett of Eustace. He was preceded
in death by his father, Roy T. Parker, in 1999.

Ronald Jay Doty
Services for Ronald Jay Doty, 44, of Longview will be held at
2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, in Rader Funeral Home Chapel, 1617
Judson Road in Longview, with Pastor Emmitt Upchurch officiating.
Interment will follow in Waldrop Cemetery in Panola County. Ronald
died Tuesday morning, July 30, 2002, at his residence.
He was born March 4, 1958, in Salina, Kan., to James and Marlene
Doty. He had lived in Longview since 1996. He was a maintenance
technician for Aaon Coil Products in Longview, and he was a member
of the Baptist church. Ronald and his wife, Hilda, married Jan.
25, 1997.
Mr. Doty is survived by his wife, Hilda; one son, Spencer Bellomy
Doty of Longview; his mother, Marlene Hertzog of Longview; his
father, James E. Doty of Arizona; one sister, Rinda Jean Roberson
of Mississippi; one brother, James W. Doty of Arizona; his stepdaughters,
Jennifer Bellomy and Carrie Bellomy, both of Longview; and one
stepson, Brian Bellomy of Longview. Ronald was preceded in death
by his grandmother, Opal Lyman.

KILGORE — Graveside services for Wanda “Mimi” Washington, 72,
a 29-year resident of Kilgore, will be held at 4 p.m. Thursday
in Kilgore Memorial Gardens Cemetery with the Rev. Rose Wright
officiating. Arrangements are by Rader Funeral Home of Kilgore.
Mrs. Washington died Sunday.

Elam C. ‘Pop’ Frye Sr.
Elam C. “Pop” Frye Sr., 91, of Gladewater died Monday in a Tyler
hospital. He was born Feb. 13, 1911, in Winchester, Ind., to Eldon
C. and Frances O’Dell Frye. He had been a resident of East Texas
for more than 35 years. A mechanical engineer, he retired from
both General Dynamics and Stemco.
Mr. Frye enjoyed gun collecting and restoring. He rode motorcycles
up until his mid-70s. He took his last motorcycle ride on his
89th birthday. Mr. Frye was a certified manufacturing engineer,
and he was an inventor. He was preceded in death by two wives,
Ruby Brown Frye and Helen Tally Frye.
Among his survivors are four sons, Jim Frye and his wife, Elaine,
of Palestine, E.C. “Bud” Frye Jr. of Flint, Marshall Frye of Granbury
and David Frye and his wife, Jo Ann, of Longview; two daughters,
Cynthia Sullivan of Dallas and Patti Renfro and her husband, Bill,
of Longview; two sisters, Audrey Smart and Pauline “Beanie” McFall,
both of Muncie, Ind.; 11 grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, in Lakeview
Funeral Home Chapel with Tom Ramey officiating. Interment will
follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Pallbearers will be Mark
Emory, Mark Hood, Mike Wilson, Harry Simpson, Bobby Cruse and
Rick Stinson.

Jewell Jackson
GLADEWATER — Services for Jewell Jackson, 71, of Hawkins will
be held at 2 p.m. Thursday, Aug. 1, 2002, at Croley Funeral Home
Chapel in Gladewater with the Rev. Roger Gage officiating. Burial
will follow in Lakeview Memorial Gardens. Mr. Jackson was born
Feb. 1, 1931, in Anton. He died Tuesday, July 30, 2002. He was
a retired chemical supervisor for Farmland Industries and Fertilizers
in Pollock, La., having been employed for more than 30 years.
Mr. Jackson was a veteran of the U.S. Air Force and a member of
Clarksville City Baptist Church.
Survivors include his wife, Linda Chandler Jackson of Hawkins;
a son and daughter-in-law, Greg and Katherine Jackson of Midlothian;
a daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Mike McKey of West Monroe,
La.; five grandchildren, Erin Jackson, Lauren Jackson, Brady Jackson,
Janyce McKey and Kathryn McKey; one sister, Lorene Hill of Siloam
Springs, Ark.; three stepchildren; and two stepgrandchildren.
Mr. Jackson was preceded in death by his parents, James Preston
and Lydia Bessie Jackson; his first wife, Wanda Ivy Jackson; three
brothers; and one sister.

Freda Hurt Kimble
After a long and happy life, Freda Katherine Hurt Kimble, former
resident of Longview, passed away in Tyler on Saturday, July 27,
2002, at the age of 92.
Freda was born to E.S. Hurt, a salesman, and Cora Hurt, an artist,
on Sept. 6, 1909, in St. Paul, Va. When Freda was in her early
20s, her family moved to Kingsport, Tenn., where she joined Tennessee
Eastman Co. as secretary to the purchasing agent.
On Sept. 8, 1934, she married John S. Kimble, a young chemical
engineer from Illionois, who was also employed with Tennessee
Eastman. Freda then became a fulltime homemaker, and two daughters
were born to the union.
In 1951, the family moved to Texas when John was transferred
to Longview to assist in building and operating the plant for
Texas Eastman Co., a newly formed subsidiary of Eastman Kodak.
At First United Methodist Church of Longview, Freda was a member
of the Turner Sunday School Class, the Thelma Morgan Sunday School
Class and the choir, served one term on the administrative board
and played the piano for the adult and children’s Sunday school
classes. Freda was also a member of the Longview Music Club, Good
Shepherd Auxiliary, The Forum, Pinecrest Country Club, Oak Forest
Country Club, sustaining member of the Longview Junior League,
member of the Federation of Women’s Clubs, PTA, Hughey Crest Garden
Club, Longview Garden Club and the Summit Club.
In June of 2001, Freda and John moved to Tyler to be near their
daughter and to reside at The Grand Court, a retirement community.
Survivors are Freda’s husband of 67 years, John S. Kimble; her
sister, Ruth Hurt Beltz of Merritt Island, Fla.; and her daughters,
Jeanette West of Greencastle, Ind., and Kay Toole and her husband,
Ray Toole, of Whitehouse. Survivors also include her grandchildren,
Tracey Miller and her husband, Mark Miller, of Allen; John Toole
of Austin, Alyson West of Melbourne, Australia, and Rebecca West
of Raleigh, N.C., and one great-granddaughter, Haleigh Crews of
Raleigh, N.C.
Services will be held at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 2, 2002, at the
First United Methodist Church in Longview with the Rev. Dan Miller
and the Rev. Bill Cunningham officiating. Burial will be in Rosewood
Park in Longview. Rader Funeral Home of Longview is in charge
of all arrangements.
