El Capa Y Espada - 1936

Faye Bumpass - Sponsor

The purpose of the Spanish Club, Capa Y Espada, is to create an interest in all things Spanish and to contribute each year something worthwhile to the Spanish Department of Gladewater High School.  The colors of the club are yellow and red, and the motto is "saber es poder".  The club plans to have at least one Spanish social meeting during each term.  In the fall of 1935 the club gave a "pinata" party with over thirty members attending, and in the second term a Spanish banquet was given by the Home Economics Club on March 12.
