Bennie Ruth Johnson Services for Bennie Ruth Johnson, 62, of Athens were held at 11 a.m. Tuesday at Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel with Wade D. Johnson officiating. Burial followed at Athens City Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home in Athens. Bennie died Aug. 11, 2001, in Athens. She was born Sept. 10, 1938, in Mexia to Benjamin and Ruth Mae Beene Pipkin. She was a resident of Athens since 1974 and was a homemaker. She was a member of Zion's Rest Primitive Baptist Church. Survivors include her husband, Wade D. Johnson of Athens; sons and daughters-in-law, Larry E. and Debbie Johnson of Kemp, Daryl W. and Lisa Johnson of Athens, and Scott and Dana Johnson of Brownsboro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Sue and Travis Johnson of Silsbee and Louise and P.B. Dover of Deer Park; brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Sylvia Pipkin of Deer Park; grandchildren, Trista, Justin, Heather, Hannah, Hallei and Dakota Johnson; daughter by choice, Jeannie Pierce, spouse, David and daughter, Britney of Athens; and numerous nieces and nephews.
