The Athens Review Tuesday April 29, 1952 Charles Campbell Interred Tuesday Funeral services for Charles Campbell, 19-year-old Athens youth were held Tuesday at 2 p. m. from the First Methodist Church, with Rev. M. M. Davis and Kermit Upshaw officiating. Burial was in the Athens cemetery. Charles died in a Dallas hospital at 12:50 a.m. He had been in ill health for the past 18 months. He wa a 1950 graduate of Athens High School, where he played clarinet in the school band. Survivors include his parents Mr. and Mrs. B. O. Campbell of Athens; a brother Van Campbell, student at Athens High School, and his maternal grandparents Mr. and Mrs. C. E. Emerson, Poynor. Hassell-Foster Funeral Home directed. Active pallbearers were Jerry Taylor, Delwin Morton, Gene Williams, Tommy Stewart, Jimmie Frizzell and Buster Johnson. Honorary pallbearers were Turner Gauntt, Jr. , Merwyn Pickle, Bruce Dingler, Ronnie Long, Maurice Speake, Harold Rhodes, Roy Truett, Jr. Corkey Bennett, and Rayford Tidmore.
