Charlyne Parsons Owen

Graveside services for Charlyne Parsons Owen, 97, of Houston are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Athens Cemetery with the Rev. Robert C. Davis Jr. officiating. Arrangements are under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.

Mrs. Owen died Jan. 31, 2003, in Houston.

She was born May 21, 1905, in Pittsburg to George and Cecilia O'Pry Parsons.

Mrs. Owen was a resident of Dallas most of her life and lived in Houston the past five years. She was an avid gardener and loved to grow flowers. She was a National Flower Show judge.

She was preceded in death by her husband, William D. Owen II, on April 23, 1989; and her parents.

Survivors include her son and daughter-in-law, William Dennis and Denise Owen of Houston; cousins, Betty Dewberry, Robert Owen of Dallas, Jerry Owen of Dallas and Bill Owen of Houston.
