Charles Wayne Magness Services for Charles Wayne Magness, 52, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at the Foster & Brown Chapel with the Revs. F.B. Burns and Joe Warren officiating. Burial will follow at Athens City Cemetery under the direction of Foster & Brown Funeral Home. Mr. Magness died Monday, Nov. 18, 2002, in Athens. He was born Dec. 31, 1943, in Athens to Raymond Magness and Margie Green Magness. He was retired from a management position at Winn Dixie. He was a member of Guiding Light Assembly of God Church. Mr. Magness was preceded in death by his father, Raymond Magness; and brother-in-law, Winston Worley. Survivors include his wife in nine years, Darlene Magness of Athens; son, Jeff Magness of Austin; daughters and son-in-law, Julie and Bradley Gray of Eustace and Jennifer Birdsong of Fort Worth; one granddaughter, Jaci Gray; sisters and brothers-in-law, Rheba and John Sparling of Palestine, Wanda and Randy Adair of Leagueville and Joyce Worley of Athens; mother and stepfather, Margie and F.B. Burns; four nephews; and three nieces. Pallbearers will be Walter Hickman, Shane Carter, Brad Grimes, Wade Hendry, David Saunders and Rob Tyner. Family will receive friends at the funeral home Tuesday evening from 6-8 p.m.
