Dora Elaine Gregg

Funeral services for Dora Elaine Gregg, 88, of Athens have been scheduled for 2 p.m. Sunday at First Presbyterian Church in Athens with the Rev. Joe Warren officiating. Interment will be private at the Athens Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.

Mrs. Gregg was born May 22, 1915, in Athens to the late S.R. and Minnie Lee Henderson Hawkins. She passed away July 17, 2003, in an Athens nursing home. She was preceded in death by her husband, Luther Gregg, in 2002, after 62 years of marriage; and brother, Quincy B. Hawkins. 

Survivors include her sister, Mittie Beaird of Athens; nephews, Tim Beaird, Justin Bryan Hawkins of Houston and W.R. Hawkins of Tucson, Ariz.; niece, Kelsey McMillan of Katy; and sister-in-law, Sue Hawkins of Houston.

Pallbearers include Steve Grant, Tommy Downing, Jim Shatzsall, Miller Beaird, Bryan Hawkins and Tim Beaird.

There will be no formal visitation. However, friends may call at the funeral home from 10 a.m. until 5 p.m. Saturday.
