Dean Walls 

Services for Dean Walls, 51, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Saturday at Dogwood Baptist Church with the Rev. Joe Smith and the Rev. Kelly Carney officiating. 

Burial will be under the direction of Athens Masonic Lodge No. 165 and Foster & Brown Funeral Home of Athens. 

Mr. Walls died April 8, 1999, at Trinity Mother Frances Hospital in Tyler. 

He was born March 7, 1948, in Athens to Clarence and Ruby Griggs Walls. He was a member of Sand Springs Baptist Church and was a member and president of Athens City Cemetery Association. Mr. Walls was on the Henderson County YMCA Board of Directors and past president of the Jaycees where he was named J.C.I. Senator. He was a member and past master of Athens Masonic Lodge No. 165. 

He was preceded in death by his parents, one brother, one sister, and a grandson, Keith Allen Wilson. 

Mr. Walls is survived by his wife, Carolyn Troublefield Walls of Athens; sons, David Dean Walls and Odis Wilson, both of Athens; daughter, Jodi Cherie Walls of Athens; daughter-in-law, Janet Lea Walls of Athens; grandsons, Michael Todd Walls, David Dean Walls II and Jeremy Wayne Walls, all of Athens; brother, Dan Walls of North Carolina; half-sister, Belle Wren of Athens; aunts, Rennie Cohagen of Athens, Emma Jean Baker of Dallas and Edna Herriage of Athens; uncle, Elmo Collard of Athens; numerous nieces, nephews and cousins and a host of friends. 

Members of Athens Masonic Lodge No. 165 will serve as pallbearers. 

Honorary pallbearers are C.A. Hawn, Darrell Lindsey, Randy Daniels, Johnny Ashton, Royce Benson, Ronnie McElroy, John Ward, Bub Cain, Steve Grant, Joe Graham, Kelly Harris, Kerry Harris, Jerry West, Tommy Smith, Gerald Schedule, Travis Schedule, Jim McPhearson, Doyle Rogers, James Rogers, Dale Christopher, Charles Orr and Craig Corley. 

Visitation with the family will be from 6-9 p.m. Friday at the funeral home.
