Grace Jones Cade 

Graveside services for Grace Jones Cade, 85, of Athens are scheduled for 4 p.m. Monday at Athens City Cemetery with the Rev. Don Wilson officiating. 

Mrs. Cade died Dec. 12, 1998, at East Texas Medical Center Athens. 

She was born Oct. 16, 1913, in Petrolia to the late John D. and Mary Helen Smith Jones. Mrs. Cade attended Northwestern University where she studied drama and theatre. She earned a bachelor of arts and master of arts degree at the University of Texas. After moving to Athens in 1946, she taught school at Cross Roads, John Tyler High School, in Tyler and retired from Trinity Valley Community College in 1975, as English department head. Mrs. Cade was a member of First Christian Church. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Marlan Hall Cade, in 1995. 

Mrs. Cade is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Michael Marlan and Billie Cade of Arlington; and grandson, Justin Michael Cade of Arlington.
