Athens Weekly Review Thursday, March 7, 1935 Pneumonia Leads As Cause of Death This Community Pnumnoia (sic) dread of the winter months claimed three lives in Athens and immediate vicinity during the month of February and Influenza, which has sent many persons to bed in recent weeks, contributed to a fourth death during the 28 day periond. Pneumonia was cited as the cause of hte following deaths: Dessie May Sessions, 3 months, February 5th. Lewis Frank Clampitt, 29, February 21st. Annie Bowman, 44, February 28th. Influenza was listed as a contributing cause in the death of J. D. Nall on February 24th. These four deaths were part of the fourteen listed here for the month of February. Other causes of death were varied including acute nephritis, heart trouble, cancer, perotonitis, apoplexy, senility, blood poisoning accidental, meningiti-s and agina pectoris.
