Athens Weekly Review Thursday July 21, 1956 John Edgar Rusk Dies Thursday; Funeral Friday Funeral services were held Friday at 10 a.m. at Carroll and Lehr Memory Chapel for John Edgar Rusk, 79, a retired farmer, who died Thursday at 2:15 a.m. at the home of a daughter, Mrs. J. L. Brown, 119 Tillison, after a lengthy illness. The Rev. T. L. Climp conducted the services, and interment was in the Athens City Cemetery. Mr. Rusk, a native of Alabama had lived in AThens since 1919, coming here from Midfield. Survivors are one son, R. L. Rusk of Athens, three daughters Mrs. B. I. Williams, Odessa, Mrs. J. L. Brown of Athens and Mrs. W. F. Thomas of Abbieville, Louisiana; one brother F. W. Rusk of Rome, Georgia, one sister Miss Beulah Rusk of Rome, and 14 grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
