Lois Belle Woodruff Wood 

Services for Lois Belle Woodruff Wood, 87, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Friday in the Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home Chapel in Athens with Allen Luker officiating. 

Burial will be at the Athens City Cemetery under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens. 

Mrs. Wood died April 7, 1999, in a Canton nursing home. 

She was born Oct. 3, 1911, in Dawson to William David and Laura C. Ligon Woodruff. She was a member of Eastern Hills Baptist Church of Christ in Athens and was a retired sales clerk with J.C. Penney. 

She was preceded in death by her husband, Pete Wood; parents, William and Laura Woodruff; brothers, W.L. Woodruff and Raymond Woodruff and sister, Pauline Pierce. 

Mrs. Wood is survived by her brother and sister-in-law, Curtis and Bonnie Woodruff of Los Osos, Calif.; sister-in-law, Earline Woodruff of Canton; nieces, Donna Oscepenski of Aurora, Colo., Kathy Daniel of Mesquite, Patty Johnson of Porterville, Calif., and Jeanie Woodruff of California; nephews, Linden Pierce of Rome, Ga., Michael Pierce of Waxahachie, Bill Woodruff of Fairfield, Timmy Wood of Waco and Bobby Strain of Athens and New York City, N.Y. 

Visitation with the family will be from 6-7:30 p.m. Thursday at the funeral home.
