Mack Adams MACK ADAMS Athens- Graveside Services for Mack Adams, 79, of Athens, are scheduled for 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Athens Cemetery, with Rev. Kelly Carnes, officiating, under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home. Mr. Adams passed away Wednesday, May 29, 2002 at his residence in Athens. He was born in Crandall April 2, 1923 to the late Dow and Lennie McSween Adams. He married Sue Laman, June 15, 1942. Preceded in death by his brothers, Jacks Adams, R.N. Adams, Ray Adams, sister, Mary Edith Ashworth. Mr. Adams attended Crandall High School and Texas A&M University. Mack and his brother, Ray Adams, were co-founders of Adams Brothers Inc. in 1945. Adams Brothers Inc. were responsible for the construction of many Texas Highways and Interstates. He served and was president of the Athens Country Club for many years, served on the Athens Independent School District Board during many phases of school construction including the Adams Atheletic Complex located at Athens High School. He was voted one of the most influential people of Athens. Long time Southwestern Cattle Raisers Association, and was a member of many other civic organizations. Survived by wife, Sue Adams, Athens, Son and daughter in law, Jerry Mack and Ronna Adams, Daughter and son in law, Sandra and Donny Campbell, brother, Bill Adams, sister in law, Jean Adams, all of Athens, grandchildren, Lisa Adams, Jacob Teal, both of Athens, Traci Campbell, Dallas, Molly Chance, Denton, numerous nephews and nieces, and a host of friends. Family will receive 5:30 to 7:00 P.M. Friday at the Funeral Home. If desired, memorials may be made to the Charity of your choice.
