Mike Lancaster Funeral services for Mike Lancaster, 49, of Athens are scheduled for 2 p.m. Wednesday at Leagueville Baptist Church with Tom Bragdon officiating. Interment will be at Athens City Cemetery under the direction of Cooper Funeral Home of Athens. Mr. Lancaster passed away Monday, Nov. 15, 2004, in Tyler. Mr. Lancaster was born Aug. 29, 1955, in Corsicana and lived his early childhood there. He came to Henderson County with his parents in 1962 and attended schools in Athens. He graduated from Henderson County Junior College with a degree in drafting in 1975. After graduating from college, he became employed with Texas Instruments in Dallas. He married Karen Jo Henderson on March 6, 1976, and returned to Athens in 1979. He was employed with Hearn Surveying Associates. He was later employed by Lancaster's Tom's Sales until 1999, when he assumed ownership and management of Lancaster's Hav-A-Snack Foods. He was a member of Leagueville Baptist Church. He enjoyed computers, electronics and fishing and, most of all, spending time with his family. Mr. Lancaster is survived by his wife, Karen Lancaster of Athens; daughter, Debi Lancaster of Glen Rose; parents, Dan and Betty Lancaster of Athens; sister and brother-in-law, Carmen and Joe Butler of Athens; maternal grandmother, Gladys Douglas of Kerens; mother and father-in-law, Jenny and Sid Booker of Fulton, Miss.; and numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. Pallbearers will include Danny Elledge, Dana Dungan, Lance Owen, Brad Fulton, David Trammell, Dr. Tim Furlong and Ronnie Marion. Honorary pallbearers will include Kenneth Fulton, Jimmy McRae, Robert McLain, Paige McLain and Tony Douglas. Visitation at Cooper Funeral Home is from 9 a.m. until 9 p.m. The family will receive condolences Tuesday from 6-8 p.m.
