Virginia Tex Holland Kauffmann Services for Virginia Tex Holland Kauffmann, 79, of Fort Worth and formerly of Athens are scheduled for 11 a.m. Saturday at All Saints Episcopal Church in Fort Worth with the Rev. Canon James P. DeWolfe Jr. and the Rev. Zeke L. Rogers officiating. Graveside services and burial will follow at 3:30 p.m. at the Athens Cemetery. Arrangements are under the direction of Thompson's Harveson & Cole in Fort Worth. Mrs. Kauffmann died Wednesday, Nov. 25, 1998, at All Saints Hospital in Fort Worth. She was born April 10, 1919, and grew up in Athens in a wonderful, loving family. Her father, Samuel Eugene Holland, was a state district judge, and her mother, Juanita Humphries Holland, was a strong and beautiful Christian and civic leader. Virginia attended the University of Texas and Southern Methodist University, where she met and married Adolph Frederick Kauffmann III. Theirs was a beautiful, loving, joyful marriage, and they gave a foundation of love to their three daughters. A homemaker and mother, she always had a smile on her face, in good times and in times of trial. Mrs. Kauffmann is survived by her daughters, Ginger Head Gearheart and her husband, Joseph, and Janet Hardin and her husband, Ned, all of Fort Worth, Debbie Buster and her husband, Kelly, of Tyler and their father, Adolph Frederick Kauffmann III, M.D.; sisters, Jacquelyn Fisher and Jean Moore, both of Athens; grandchildren, Albon Head, Tyler Head, Robert Head, Trey Hardin and Holland Hardin; great-grandchild, Caitlin Marie Head; and beloved nieces and nephews. The family will receive friends from 4-6 p.m. Friday at the funeral home and at DeWolfe Hall, All Saints Episcopal Church, following the services or at the residence of Mr. and Mrs. Ned Hardin.
