Douglas C. Terrell

Services for Douglas C. Terrell, 77, of Tyler were held 10 a.m. Monday at Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home Chapel with the Rev. Johnny Anders officiating.

Burial followed at Terrell Family Cemetery in Henderson County under the direction of Burks Walker Tippit Funeral Home of Tyler.

Mr. Terrell died Nov. 3, 2000, in Tyler.

He was born April 19, 1923, in Henderson County.

Mr. Terrell lived in Tyler for most of his life and was a member of West Erwin Church of Christ. He retired from Lagloria Oil and Gas, where he worked as an operator. During World War II, he served in the Southern Pacific on the island of Saipan. He was a member of Masonic Lodge no. 993 and other Masonic bodies and was a past patron of Eastern Star.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Eugene Matthew and Mary Belle Nowlin Terrell.

Survivors include his wife of 60 years, Doris Terrell of Tyler; son, Gary Terrell of Kingwood; daughter, Betty Owens of Beaumont; brother, Thomas Terrell of Nederland; sister, Frances Cotten of Athens; five grandchildren; and six great-grandchildren.

Pallbearers were David Owens, Russell Owens, Glen Smith, Eric Terrell, Sean Terrell and John Cotten.

James Troyce Jordan Jr.

Services for James Troyce Jordan Jr., 38, of Brownsboro are scheduled for 2 p.m. Thursday at Calvary Baptist Church in Brownsboro with the Revs. Jim Lay and Glen Willis officiating.

Burial will follow at Terrell Cemetery in Henderson County under the direction of Chandler Memorial Funeral Home of Chandler.

Mr. Jordan died Jan. 29, 2001, in Tyler.

He was born May 1, 1962, in Tyler.

Mr. Jordan attended school in Brownsboro, Highland Park and Illinois. He was a member of Opelika Baptist Church. He owned and operated D.J.'s Grill in Brownsboro for the past year.

Survivors include his wife, Denise Jordan of Brownsboro; parents, James and Mickey Jordan Sr. of Brownsboro; sons, James Kyle Jordan of Athens and Kasey Shane Jordan of Athens; daughters, Lindsey Renee Jordan of Athens, Stacy Marie Fields of Brownsboro and Jessica Nicole Field of Brownsboro; brothers and sister-in-law, John and Carole Jordan of Mabank and Jeff Jordan of Brownsboro; sisters and brothers-in-law, Beth and Roger Adair of Murchison and Ann and Rayland Sifers of Cross Roads; and grandparents, Eula V. Cotten of Brownsboro and Margaret Jordan of Chandler.

Pallbearers will be Kyle Bridges, Johnny Massey, Greg Hill, Windy Savering, Daner Stanberry and Jennifer Gabbard.

Honorary pallbearers will be Tracy Dunnington, Gary Grimes, Wick Gabbard, Tony Hayes, Larry Ledford and L.D. Brookshire.

Family will receive friends from 5-7 p.m. at the funeral home.

 

Mary Denise Jackson

Graveside services for Mary Denise Jackson, 53, of Athens were held at 10 a.m. Wednesday at Terrell Cemetery, located near Rock Hill Cemetery in Brownsboro, under the direction of Carroll-Lehr Funeral Home of Athens.

Mrs. Jackson died Sept. 3, 2001, in Athens.

She was born in Palestine to Hubert Joseph and Thelma Inez Pirtle Brewer.

Mrs. Jackson was a resident of Athens for the past four years and worked as a provider for hospice. She was a former resident of Dallas for numerous years.

Survivors include her daughter, Celina Denise Lundy of Dallas; grandchildren, Sara Airheart of Mesquite, Devin Lundy and Justin Lundy, both of Dallas; father, Hubert Brewer of Athens; brothers, Tom Brewer of Carrollton and Alan Brewer of Longview; and sister, Del Gearhart of Hurst.

Pallbearers will be Tom Brewer, John Gearhart, Alan Brewer and Paul Pirtle.

Memorials may be made to a charity of choice.
