Mrs. Betty Arthus, 46, of Route 1, Athens, passed away late
Friday night in a local hospital after a lengthy illness.
Funeral services were held at 2:30 p.m. Sunday in the Chapel of
the Foster and Brown Funeral Home. The Rev. David Hutchins and
the
Rev. W. A. Corley officiated. Burial was in Oaklawn Memorial
Park.Mrs. Arthus was born in Athens on January 26, 1930 and had
resided in this
area for most of her life. She was a member of the Episcopal
Church.
She is survived by her husband, Jack Arthus of Athens; one son,
Stephen Arthus of Athens; one daughter, Mrs. Judy Albright of
Frentress, Texas;
one brother, Frank Mallard of Athens; one sister, Mrs. Emma
Palmer of Fort Worth; and three grandchildren.
Pallbearers will be Bill Vinson, Charles Majors, Thomas Palmer
Jr., Gerald Landrum, Glyn Albright and Deward Daley.
Note: Death certificate shows Betty J. Arthus born January 26,
1930 in Athens Texas and died August 27, 1976 in Athens.
