Funeral services were held Thursday at the Central Baptist Church
in Athens for Holbert Lee Jolly, 49, who died Wednesday in a
local hospital after a long illness.The services were conducted
by the Rev. T. L. Slimp, and burial was in Allen Cemetery north
of Murchison.
Jolly was born in Tennessee and had lived in Murchison since he
was a child. He moved to Athens three years ago. He was a member
of the Central Baptist Church.
Surviving are his wife;two sons, Homer Jolly of Wortham and Jerry
Jolly of Athens; three daughters, Mrs. James Sinclair of Mount
Vernon, Mrs. Bill Thrasher of Pittsburg and Miss Lucilla Jolly of
Athens; two brothers, Paul Jolly of Murchison and Buck Jolly of
Dallas; three sisters, Mrs. Maggie Pruitt and Mrs. Jim Sherman of
Athens and Mrs. Jesse McCoy of Waco and six grandchildren.
