Obituary
Mrs. Dovie Cobb

Mrs. W. F. Cobb, devoted wife for twenty-eight years, answered the final summons of the great Father on Monday morning, March 9th following a serious illness since December 16th. All that remained on earth of this kindly lady, who was loved by every one who knew her, was tenderly laid to rest in Malakoff's little city of the dead Tuesday afternoon to await the resurrection morn.

Mrs. Cobb was born in Pear, Coryell County Texas on March 4th, 1883 and died in this city March 9th, 1931, being at the time of her death at the age of 48 years and 5 days. She lived with her parents at the home of her birthplace until November 26, 1903 when she was united in marriage to W. F. Cobb of Bennington, Oklahoma. The wedding was preformed by a Methodist minister in Bonham, Texas. Immediately after the wedding Mr. and Mrs. Cobb left for his home in Oklahoma. They continued their home in Bennington until 1905 when they removed to Boswell, Oklahoma. In the year 1910 they came back to Texas and took up their home in Coryell County where they remained until coming to Malakoff in 1919. They have since resided in this city.

No children were born to this union, but an adopted daughter came into the family in they year 1916. This child, now Mrs. Dorsey Perkins, resided in this city.

Mrs. Cobb united with the Methodist Church in Pearl in 1911, but was converted into the Pentecostal faith two years later and remained faithful to that belief until the end.

Mrs. Cobb has been in failing health for the past five years and many times during this period she was confined to her bed for weeks at a time. Her last illness remained very serious for a period of three months and death came as the only relief to her untold suffering. All within the power of human hands was done but to no avail. The happy smile which continued on her face during the long months of suffering continued with her until death. Despite her suffering she remained ever cheerful and everything that was done for her proved entirely satisfactory. She bore her agony all alone and without a word. She will not only be greatly missed by her husband and daughter and those of her fathers household, but by the entire community as well.

She is survived by her husband and daughter, her mother, Mrs. Mattie Eplin, of Pearl one sister, Mrs. Kathie Kinsey and tow brothers, Ollie and Will Medart also of Pearl.
