Obituary
Funeral services for Mrs. Nina Davis,
85, of 623 York, who died in an Athens hospital Friday at 9:30
p.m. after a short illness, were held Sunday at 2 p.m. at the
Carroll and Lehr Memory Chapel.The Rev. J.W. Williford
conducted the services and burial was in the Meredith Camp Ground
Cemetery.
Pallbearers were Raymond Thomas, Robert Garner,
Cecil Engledow, Roy Handley,
Claude Handley and Homer Different.
Mrs. Davis, a native of Macon, Ga., had been a
resident of Athens since 1922 and was the widow of George Davis,
a former constable of Henderson County,
who died May 24, 1939. She was a member of the Methodist church.
Survivors are two daughters, Miss Geraldine Davis
of Athens and Mrs. Charlie Garner of Elkhart;
one brother, Warner Lee of Lone Oak; two nieces,
Mrs. Bonnie Daniels of Athens and Mrs. Belle Carver
of Vivian, La., and two grandchildren and two
great-grandchildren.
