My name is David L Underwood.

I was born October 24, 1946 in McAdoo Texas as the 11th of 13 children born to Dock and Allie Underwood. [Jim, Elizabeth, Frank, Billy, Madge, Edith, Clare Dean, Viola, Betty, Ethel, David, Jerry, and Paul]

My great-grandfather, W.A. came to Texas in 1878 from Newton County Mississippi.

My grandparents, Joseph and Mattie were married in Hill County in 1898.

My parents, Dock (Gainey Dean) Underwood and Allie Nora Bradford were married in Hillsboro in 1922 and lived in Hill County until 1940, when the family moved to McAdoo, Crosby County in west Texas.

In 1948 Dock, Allie and the kids all moved back to Hill County.
