Church Wedding United Miss Ninna Benton and Raymond Cody on Saturday

A wedding, marked by its charming simplicity, was that of Miss Ninna Benton, daughter of Mrs. A. H. Benton, and Raymond Cody, son of Mr. and Mrs. L. G. Cody, of White Rock, which was solemnized on Sunday, September 27, 1931, at 6:00 PM at the Washington Street Baptist Church. The sacred ring service of the Baptist Church was impressively read by the Rev. John Wright, pastor of the church.
The altar was embanked with handsome ferns and palms and the choir rail was entwined with graceful Southern smilax, while tall Colonial floor baskets of pink and orchid gladiolas and pink roses added to the lovely color note of pink orchid un green.
The prenuptial music was given by Miss Bernie Jo Reagan who sweetly sang "Ah Sweet Mystery of Life" and by Mrs. Adolph Lofman of Fort Worth singing "At Dawning." Mrs. Frank Layman, of Whitewright, played "Traumere" as a violin solo with Miss Maxine Moss, of Leonard, playing the piano accompaniment. Miss Moss played "The Bridal Chorus" from Lehengrin as the processional and Mendelssohn's "Wedding March" as the recessional. During the ceremony, Miss Moss softly played the "Flower Song" with violin obbligato by Mrs. Layman.
The bride and groom entered unattended and were met at the altar by the Rev. Wright.
The bride was most attractive in a smart suit of brown tweed with brown lapin for collar, blouse of egg shell satin, a brown seal skin felt hat, and shoes of brown kid. Her bouquet was of pink Columbia roses showered with valley lilies.

He also had many other honors while attending Texas A&M College. Mr. Cody is now assistant manager of the government experiment station in Marianna, Arkansas, where he and Mrs. Cody will be at home to their friends after October 2nd.
An informal reception was held at the home of the bride's mother at 2111 Johnson Street, following the wedding at the church. The guests were greeted by Miss Gladys Benton, sister of the bride. Punch was served by Misses Annie Dora England, Dimple Sullivan, and Velma Elizabeth Benton.
