Fire
Damages Building And Stock At Celeste
Celeste, December 2--Fire of unknown origin starting
in a sheet iron building at the east end or attached to the Henslee Hardware
Store building resulted in approximately $6,000.00 damage tonight.
The Henslee building was filled with hay, automobiles,
trucks, and wagons, and all but the hay was rescued, and the building was
only slightly damaged. Mr. Henslee's damage will approximate $5,000.00,
with no insurance. The blaze spread to the hay and wood yard of the
J. A. Taylor Company adjoining where approximately $1,000.00 damage resulted
in loss of stock.
The Central Fire contingent of the Greenville Fire
Department responded to the call for assistance and the timely arrival
of the firemen and their prompt work kept the fire from spreading to the
main building of G. D. Henslee.
