George Childress Grows Some Fine Corn
George Childress, who lives west of Celeste, can
grow corn equal to his political record, which comes right up on the front
line with the best.
He brought to this office several ears that measured
10 1/2 inches in fine developed grains
of corn as can be found in these parts.
George also sold a few chickens, some eggs, and
butter on his "corn show" trip.
That kind of farming is the type that brings independence
whether the government aids or not.
