Repeat Vows in Friday Ceremony
The sanctuary of Grace Presbyterian Church was the
setting for the 7:30 PM, Friday, September 5, 1969,
wedding of Miss Margaret Lynn Kirkpatrick and Roger Mac
Timberlake. Dr. David Uhl and the Rev. Edgar Hubbard
officiated at the double ring ceremony.
Parents of the couple are Mr. and Mrs. Jack H.
Kirkpatrick of Kingston and Mr. and Mrs. Alton M.
Timberlake, 1311 Ro... Street.
Given in marriage by her father, the bride wore a formal
length white crepe gown accented with a wedding ring
lace collar and long petal point sleeves. Her full
detachable chapel train was attached to a lace overly at
the shoulder line.
Her elbow-length four tiered illusion veil was held by a
headpiece of white lace surrounded by seed pearls. She
carried a traditional cascade of Mystery chrysanthemums
centered by a white Cattleya orchid accented with ivy
leaves.
Mrs. Jerry Dunn served her sister as matron of honor.
She wore a pastel blue crepe floor length gown. The
bridesmaids, Mrs. Jerry Standlee, Mrs. Ron Driggers, and
Miss Thelma Hancock, wore similar gowns in a deeper
shade of blue.
Katrina Horn, flower girl, wore a gown identical to
those of the bridesmaids.
Fred Hale of Celeste was best man, while groomsmen were
Jerry Dunn of Greenville, brother-in-law of the bride;
Alton Timberlake, Jr., of Richardson, brother of the
groom; and John Davis of Greenville. Ushers were Terry
Money, cousin of the groom, Jeff Parrish and Mike
Rackley of Greenville. David Wayne Gormandy, cousin of
the groom, was ringbearer.
Brass fern stands filled with greenery and spiral
candelabra holding white tapers formed the background
for the ceremony.
Mrs. Kay Stuth, organist, played traditional wedding
music for the ceremony.
The reception was held in the Fellowship Hall of the
church. A white lace cloth over white satin covered the
bride's table, centered with an arrangement of blue
tipped white chrysanthemums. Silver appointments were
used to serve the punch and the three-tiered cake.
Houseparty members were Mrs. Lloyd Lanier, Miss Kay
Waddle, Mrs. James Daughtery, and Mrs. Mike Meglasson.
Following a short wedding trip to Arkansas, the couple
will live in Greenville, where the groom, a student at
East Texas State University, is employed by Lake
Printing Company. The bride is a graduate of Celeste
High School and is employed by Greenville Pant
Manufacturing Company.
