E. T. Fry, of Celeste, Project Superintendent on REA Work

E. T. Fry, of Celeste, has been appointed superintendent
of a 200-mile power line project in Hunt, Collin, and Fannin counties,
Arthur P. Green, President of the Hunt-Collin-Electric Cooperative, Inc.,
announced Thursday. Mr. Fry's appointment was approved by the Rural
Electrification Administration.
The Rural Electrification Administration allotment
and loan contract amounts to $170,000. Plans and specifications for
line construction have been approved by the REA and bids have been asked
for. This line when completed will serve 583 customer, it was stated.
Mr. Green stated that bids will be received and
opened at 10:00 o'clock Thursday, August 26, and the contract is expected
to be awarded within three days. This line is expected to be serving
electricity to consumers in its area this fall, it was stated.
Mr. Fry, project superintendent, is well qualified
for the position to which he has been appointed, having served eighteen
years with the First National Bank of Celeste. For the past eleven
years, he has conducted a general insurance agency.
Mr. Green stated that engineers representing the
project are Handley, Freeze, and Nichols of Fort Worth, and that Henry
Pharr, of Greenville, had been approved as project attorney.
