Couple Celebrate 50th Anniversary
Mr. and Mrs. Howell Luna
Mr. and Mrs. Howell Luna, 905 Rees Street, Greenville,
will be honored with an open house on Sunday, September
7, 1969, in celebration of their Golden Wedding
anniversary.
The couple were married on September 12, 1919, by G. W.
Gann, a Church of Christ minister, at his home at 2104
Wellington Street. Mrs. Luna is the daughter of the late
Noah Duncan and Jennie Kaiser Duncan and Luna is the son
of the late Manley Luna and Sarah Luna. Both were born
and reared in Hunt County.
After their marriage, they moved to a farm in Merit and
Alliance communities. In 1932, they moved to Greenville
where Lunas have been working active members in Johnson
Street Church of Christ for the past thirty-seven years.
They have one daughter, Mrs. Isaac Burns; and three
grandchildren, Eddie Burns, Kimberly Burns, and Marty
Burns.
Hosting the reception will be Mrs. Burns and husband,
and Mr. and Mrs. George Roof (sic), Jr., of Grand
Prairie, sister and brother-in-law of Mrs. Luna.
The brothers and sisters of Mr. and Mrs. Luna also will
be honored. They are Mr. and Mrs. Allen Duncan, and Mr.
and Mrs. Woodrow Duncan of Dallas; Mr. and Mrs. Lee
Duncan of Jacksonville, Florida; Mr. and Mrs. Herman
Luna of Bonham; Mrs. Jewell Butler of Merit; and Mrs.
Lillie McCullough of Greenville.
All friends and relatives are invited to attend the
reception between the hours of 2:00 and 5:00 PM in the
Lunas' home, 905 Rees Street.
