J. B. Briscoe Letter, December 18, 1928

Submitters Note: It appears to me that this is a typed transcript of a handwritten letter in that there are handwritten notes inserted between the lines. This was sent to me by the Archvist at the Commerce University while searching for the original interview with York Honeycutt, a copy of which is in the Greenville Library. Bean Creek Post Office as mentioned in this letter is listed as a official US Post Office with William R. Duval as Postmaster established in 1853. In asmuch as these early postoffices was in the home of the postmaster it must not have lasted long. On the Hunt County Abstract Map the name of W. R. Duvat (sic) , A-234, is listed crossing Little Caddo Creek. From my family deed records Bean Creek was later called Elm Creek and now carries the name Little Caddo.
