Edward Clinton Lacy and Eva Webb were married on May 20, 1894, in Nevada, Collin County, Texas. They came to that area early in life; he was from Hope (Hempstead County {?}), Arkansas, and she came from Homer, Louisiana. Lancaster, Dallas County, and Farmersville, Collin County, were their homes before moving to the Lane community about five miles west of Celeste.

Their children: Mrs. H. F. (Lois Lacy) Lewis, 1897, is a retired teacher from Celeste High School. James Perry , 1899, deceased. Jess Lacy, 1901, is a retired Yuma, Arizona school teacher. Mrs. Mattie Lee Lacy Dillon, 1905, deceased. William Carl Lacy, 1908, is a retired rural mail carrier out of the Celeste Post Office with thirty-six and one-half years' service. Mrs. D. C. Middleton, 1910, retired Pearland, Texas school teacher, home Brady, Texas. E. C. (Zeke) Lacy, Jr., 1913, died in 1955.

The father died in 1941 in McKinney, Texas; the mother died on December 7, 1970 in Greenville, Texas.

Note: Edward Clinton's parents were William C. Lacy and Sarah E. Lacy. His father was either born in Mississippi or Tennessee. This mother was born in Tennessee. The family was living at Christian, Independence County, Arkansas in 1870. They got their mail at Oil Trough. Members were William C. Lacy, 33; Sarah E., 27; James T., 5; Jesse V., 3; and Martin D., 1. In 1880, the family was living in Dry Fork, Izard County, Arkansas. Besides the mother and Edward, the family consisted of James Lacy, 15, Illinois; Jessie Lacy, 13, Illinois; Martin D., Lacy, 11, Arkansas; Sarah E. Lacy, 8, Arkansas; and Mary Belle Lacy, 6, Arkansas. The 1900 and 1910 Collin County census has Sarah living with her son James F. (or T.) Lacy and his family. She is reported as Sallie (Sally) and was born in September of 1842. The 1900 census appears to read that she had eight children, but it might be a six. If a six, then all her children are listed in 1880. It is possible that she had lost Jesse by 1900 as he has not been located. By 1910, Sarah lost another child--one of her daughters.

Martin D. Lacy is living in Collin County, Texas in 1900, 1920, and 1930.

Edward Clinton was listed in Hunt County on the 1910, 1920, and 1930 census reports.
