Kingston Baptist Church Dedication
As Royce Slough led the congregation, the Kingston Baptist Church was formally dedicated on Sunday, August 25, 1985. Brother Harry Ball gave the invocation. Brother Jim Houston, pastor, thanked all those who worked so diligently and unselfishly to make this dream come true. Sammy Griffis present the plaques to the workers for their volunteer labor. Also assisting in the plaque presentation were Allen Wolfe, Richard Lyday, Larry Lyday, and W. S. Giles. Brother Jim present a certificate to James Hansell for representing Celeste. East Mountain Baptist Church, near Longview, was the recipient of one plaque. Without their untiring volunteers, the new building would not have been possible. Other churches receiving recognition were Ridgecrest Baptist and Highland Terrace Baptist (Greenville). Georgia Abell recognized the women from East Mountain. Brother Bill Reisor then made the dedication.
