Mrs. Bill Bartlett of Greenville who was before her marriage June 16, Miss Leona Vandiver of Lone Oak, was the recipient of many lovely and useful gifts Thursday morning June 27 when Mrs. Charlie B. Smart entertained with a party and shower for her.
Mrs. Stuart’s home was decorated with daisies and everywhere she carried out the color scheme of yellow and white. Tables were arranged on the spacious front porch and forty-two was the game enjoyed. Tally cards which announced the party as a shower were given to the guests at the beginning of the games. When a number of games had been played Mrs. Bartlett was found to hold high score. Mrs. Smart placed a beautiful little doll at the honoree’s place, then summoned little Jimmy Frank Stuart, appearing dressed in a white costume trimmed in yellow, and he carried a yellow basket containing many white bundles. The guests gathered near and watched Mrs. Bartlett as she opened each package and thanked the donor of the gift.
Following presentation of gifts Mrs. Smart served delicious refreshments which also followed color scheme. About 15 guests were served. – Lone Oak News
