Lone Oak, Texas, July 23 – Rev. Alex Hubbard of the Cumby Methodist church during ceremonies held at Lone Oak Cemetery in connection with the placing of a vault for R.P. Etter here Friday, paid a high tribute to the life and successful achievements of Mr. Etter.

The pastor declared that “Mr. Etter’s life was an example of what a boy could do through the exercise of industry and thrift, starting life as a poor cowboy he has forged to the front and made his name honored and respected in the world.”

Rev. Hubbard placing his hand on the vault said, “In the name of God I dedicate this vault to hold the sacred dust of our friend and brother, successful cowboy, husband and father, community builder, defender of righteousness, supporter of the church, capitalist, world traveler, friend of God and man, R.P. Etter.”

Several hundred people were present at the dedication services. Blooming Johnson of Campbell had charge of the singing. Rev. Brown of Lone Oak led in prayer.

This being the seventy-third birthday of Mr. Etter, he entertained a number of his friends at lunch. Besides his kin folks there were present, Rev. and Mrs. Brown of Lone Oak, Mr. and Mrs. Johnson of Campbell, Mrs. M.E. Coleman of Oak Grove, Rev. and Mrs. Hubbard of Cumby. - - - Greenville Banner
