Ardale Richards James
Celeste--Funeral service for Mrs. Ardale Richards James, 58, of Celeste, will be at 10:00 AM Wednesday, at the Celeste Church of Christ with Mr. Leaman Keele and Mr. Richard Sherrell officiating. Burial will be in the Celeste Cemetery.
She died Sunday morning in a Greenville hospital. Taylor Funeral Home of Leonard is in charge of the arrangements.

note: I did not find the complete obituary following in the next issue or two. This I "know" and believe to be accurate:
Ardale was a CHS graduate, class of 1938. Her brother was John Richard and her sister was Louie Wilson Richards Childress. Jane Ellen James Hair was her only child. She was also survived by her nephew, George Wilson Childress. In 1980, she was also survived by several of Janie's children--but I don't know their names. I think Ardale's parents were Wilson and Sarah Richards. Ardale traveled with her military husband, John L. James, until they retired to Celeste. Here they owned and operated successfully the Celeste Insurance Agency and were active in community affairs.
