Bessie Greer
Greenville Herald Banner -- August 21, 2003 -- Bessie Dunn Greer, 90, died Tuesday at a local nursing home. Funeral services are at 10 a.m. Friday at Peters Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Randy Rather officiating. Burial will be in Sullivan Cemetery.
The daughter of J. F. and Myrtle Hatchett Arnold, she was born March 29, 1913, in Hunt County. She was a member of the Baptist faith.
Survivors are three daughters, Nelda Hodgson of Greenville, Linda Weeks of Mesquite and Myrtie Dunn of Campbell; stepson Bobby Greer of Mesquite; two sons-in-law, John Shipp and Emmerson Bowers, both of Campbell; a sister, Edna Williams of Dallas; 10 grand-children and 21 great-grand-children.
She was preceded in death by two husbands, Theo Dunn and J. R. "Shorty" Greer; a daughter, Georgia Shipp; and two grandsons, Edward Hodgson and Michael Greer.
Memorials may be made to the Parkhaven Nursing Home Activity Fund.
Visitation is from 6 to 8 p.m. today at the funeral home.
