Betty Ruth Bobo Thompson
November 21, 2004 -- Betty Ruth Bobo Thompson, 54, of Greenville, died Friday, Nov. 19, 2004 in Greenville. Funeral services will be at 10 a.m. Monday at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home Chapel with Rev. Bill Hazelip officiating. Burial will be in Sullivan Cemetery.
Born in Wolfe City on March 4, 1950, she was the daughter of Clyde Worth Bobo and Fannie Franks. She married Burnace (Tommy) Thompson in Greenville on June 20, 1969. She worked for Lance for 15 years and for Whataburger. She was a member of the Old Concord Church.
She is survived by her husband, Burnace (Tommy) Thompson of Greenville; brothers, Ray Bobo of Mesquite and Jack Bobo of Macon, GA.; sisters-in-law, Barbara Massey of Greenville, Doris Swearingin of Greenville, and Bettie Couch of Quinlan; brothers-in-law, Lee Thompson of Quinlan, Howard A. Thompson of Garland, Herschel Thompson of Kempner and Mike Thompson of Campbell; nieces, Cheryl LaFavers of Cash, Tammy McKenzie of Wolfe City and Dian Phinny of Lindale; and numerous other nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; an infant son, Tommy Dale Thompson; and her grandmother, Florence Franks.
Pallbearers include Jerry Bobo, Jeff McKenzie, John Phinny, Brad LaFavers, Garrett LaFavers, Brad Jacbous, Johnny Smith and Bill Gaulden.
Visitation is scheduled from 6 until 8 p.m. today at Coker-Mathews Funeral Home, which is in charge of arrangements.
