Homer Bishop
Funeral services for Homer Bishop, 79, of Avinger will be at 2:00 PM, Saturday, July 5, 2008, at Turkey Creek Baptist Church in Avinger with the Rev. Charles Russell and Dr. John Collier officiating. Burial will follow in Turkey Creek Cemetery under the direction of Reeder-Davis Funeral Home in Hughes Springs.
Visitation begins after 6:00 PM, Friday, July 4, 2008, at the funeral home.
Mr. Bishop died July 1, 2008, in a Longview hospital. He was born July 25, 1928, in Kingston. A 1947 Celeste High School graduate, he was a member of the US Army Air Corps after World War II and had been a servant of the Lord at Turkey Creek Baptist Church since 1977.
He is survived by his wife of fifty-four years, Peggy Bishop; three daughters, Cathy Webb of Waco, Susan Wallace and husband Danny Wallace and Terri Medrano, all of Hughes Springs; one son, Steve Bishop and wife Rita Bishop of Hughes Springs; fourteen grandchildren and eight great-grandchildren.
