Charlie Ray Shepherd
Charlie Ray Shepherd, 75, of Quinlan, died September 20, 2007, in a Dallas hospital. Funeral services were Saturday, September 22, 2007, at the Faith Baptist Church in Quinlan with the Rev. Ray Bailey and Associate Pastor Tony Brown officiating. Burial followed in Memoryland Memorial Park in Greenville.
He was born December 31, 1931, in Lone Oak, son of the late Charlie Shepherd and Katie Bowman Shepherd. He married Mildred Cunningham, formerly of Celeste and 1947 CHS graduate, on September 17, 1976.
Mr. Shepherd served his country in the US Army. He was a member of Faith Baptist Church in Quinlan.
He was preceded in death by his parents; one brother, George Shepherd; and one sister, Maxine McCorkle.
Survivors are his wife of Quinlan; a son, Gary Shepherd of Greenville; daughter Ronna Paris of Greenville; a stepson, Paul Sumrow and wife Allison Sumrow of Parker; a stepdaughter, Donja Ivy of Dallas; grandchildren Hailee Burrell, Brittany Burrell and Taylor Burrell; and sisters Mattie Phillips, Mary Jo Weatherly, and Jeanell Green.
