Collene Lumpkin, 81, of Greenville died Friday, May 5, 2006, at Parkland Memorial Hospital. Graveside services will be 2 p.m. today at Memoryland Memorial Park under the direction of Coker-Mathews Funeral Home with Rev. Jimmy Vaughn officiating. Mrs. Lumpkin was born Dec. 2, 1924, in Hunt County to M.A. and Vertie Mae Douglas Alexander. She was married in 1947 to Horace P. Lumpkin in Hunt County. She was a homemaker and belonged to Dixon Baptist Church. She is survived by two daughters, Sheila Turner and Paula Moore, both of Greenville; and a sister, Margene Faires of Royse City; three grandchildren and four great-grandchildren. She is preceded in death by her husband, Horace P. Lumpkin, in 1980; her parents; two sisters, Mickey Offutt and Glena Farmer; two brothers, Cleo Alexander and Leo Alexander; and special friend Bill Parks.
